Biology 181: Integrated Science I: Introduction

This site provides information on evaluating information sources on the Internet.

Introduction

We live in the Information Age. Information is available from a number of sources: Books, Peer Reviewed Journals and many different Websites. Google searches yield thousands of results, but do not rank them for quality. The CRAAP test (Meriam Library, 2010 based on Orenic, 2008) can be used to evaluate information. CRAAP stands for: Currency, Reliability (or Relevance), Authority, Accuracy and Purpose (or Point of View).
