Goals & Objectives

 

The Project

RESEARCH Project: One extensive research project is required in this course. This project requires that you conduct research on a target group, design an educational intervention for that group, develop a social marketing plan to publicize that intervention to your target group, and develop a tool to evaluate the effectiveness of your educational intervention at bringing about the desired change in your target group. A detailed handout containing the requirements of this project is included in this syllabus.    

 

The Objectives

Objectives: This assignment is designed to have you:
1)  Conduct primary and secondary demographic and health-related research to identify a nutrition-related need among a target group in your selected community;
2)  Design a culturally-appropriate and fiscally-responsible educational intervention intended to meet the nutrition-related need you identified from your research;
3)  Develop a culturally appropriate and fiscally responsible social marketing plan to publicize your educational intervention to your target group in your selected community; 
4)  Develop a questionnaire and a list of ABCD measures (explained below) to determine the effectiveness of your educational intervention among your target group in your selected community.
