Introduction

In order to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of hospitality, you will want to become proficient at searching selected library databases. That is where I come in. I am a reference librarian, and I am here to teach you how to identify your information needs, select the appropriate information retrieval tools, teach you how to search them, and help you manage the information you retrieved.

Objectives

1) Get to know me. I am a reference librarian and you can reach me or another reference librarian using the contact information at the right.

2) Learn to define your information need clearly and concisely.

3) Identify the information retrieval tools, such as library periodical databases, that can satisfy your information need.

4) Learn how to search these tools effectively and efficiently.

5) Learn how to manage the information with such tools as RefWorks, MyEbscohost, and Zotero.
