An information literate student can recognize when information is needed and has the ability to locate, evaluate, manage, and use effectively this information.

2) Learn to define your information need clearly and concisely.

3) Identify the information retrieval tools, such as library periodical databases, that can satisfy your information need.

4) Learn how to search these tools effectively and efficiently.

5) Learn how to manage the information with such tools as RefWorks, MyEbscohost, and MyJSTOR

6) Know the difference between a subject heading and a keyword.
