Introduction
Welcome to the Leslie F. Malpass Library. You are here because your success in this class and beyond is dependent on finding information. In the library, we call this "information literacy." An information literate student can recognize when information is needed and has the ability to locate, evaluate, manage, and use effectively this information.
Objectives
1) Get to know me. I am a reference librarian and you can reach me or another reference librarian using the contact information at the right.
2) Learn to define your information need clearly and concisely.
3) Identify the information retrieval tools, such as library periodical databases, that can satisfy your information need.
4) Learn how to search these tools effectively and efficiently.
5) Learn how to manage the information with such tools as RefWorks, MyEbscohost, and MyJSTOR
6) Know the difference between a subject heading and a keyword.
