Finding Information About Your Author

Something About the Author Series

Location: Malpass Library, REF PN497.S66

  • Locate the last volume (Volume #26) and use the index in the back to search for your author’s last name.  If your author is in the index, you will see a volume number and page number(s). 

For Example:

The entry will look like this:

    Gibbons, Gail 12: 71-82

    What does this mean?  Find Volume 12 and turn to pages 71-82 for information about Gail Gibbons.

     


    Authors and Artists for Young Adults

    Location: Malpass Library, REF PN453.A95

    • Locate the last volume (#83), and use the index in the back to search for your author’s/illustrator’s last name.  If your author/illustrator is in the index, you will see a volume number(s). 

    For Example:

    The entry will look like this:

      Vonnegut, Kurt 6, 44

      What does this mean?  Information about Kurt Vonnegut will be available in Volumes 6 and 44.  Volume 44 will have the most current information.  Look for Vonnegut, Kurt alphabetically.

       


      Something About the Author

      Location: Malpass Library, REF PN 451.S6

      • Locate the volume #231 and use the index in the back to search for your author’s last name.  If your author is in the index, you will see a volume number. 

      For Example:

      The entry will look like this:

        Gibbons, Gail 160

        Earlier sketch in 23,72,104, 160

        What does this mean?  For the latest version, find Volume 160 and look for Gibbons, Gail alphabetically.  Earlier versions are found in volumes 23, 72, and 104.
