About this Guide

The assignment for this class is to develop a recreational program plan, for a not-for-profit agency, such as Scouts, Park Districts, YMCA's, etc. To develop a plan, the community and its needs should be evaluated. Sources of information that might be used to evaluate the community and its needs include:

  • Demographic Data (from the Census Bureau)
  • Government Agency Web Sites
  • Park District Web Sites
  • Community Web Sites
  • Maps and Aerial Photographs
