Economic Geology & Natural Resources

Economic geology is the study of geological materials which have economic or industrial value. Much of our daily life is dependent on Earth materials: water used for drinking and irrigation; metals used in automobiles and electric wiring; oil, gas, coal and uranium used as fuels; and sand, gravel and gypsum, which are used for concrete in roads and buildings. Economic geologists use geological principles to study and identify new deposits of Earth materials that have economic value. The following links connect to pages containing Internet resources that can be used to learn more about Earth materials with economic value and other natural resources.
