Keyword Search

For a quick search, you can use the Keyword Search at the top of each page.

This kind of search is most beneficial if you are looking for a specific CD or piece of music.

Advanced Search

To conduct an advanced search, click on the "Advanced Search" button in the navigation bar at the top of every page.

From there, you'll be able to search by a variety of fields. You can search by as many or as few fields as you like.

After you've entered your search criteria, click the "Search" button.

Catalogue Search

You can also search by the catalogue number of a CD. You can do this in one of two ways.

In the Advanced Search, click on the "Catalogue Search" tab and then enter the catalogue number.

Alternatively, simply type the catalogue number into the Keyword Search box at the top of every page.

Because catalogue numbers are unique, a catalogue number search will bring you to your exact result.

Browsing

You can also browse Naxos Music Library. At the top of the page, you'll see a few options in the navigation bar: Composers,  Artists, Genres, and Labels.

When you click on "Composers," for example, you'll be brought to an alphabetical listing of composers.

When you select an option, you'll be able to see every CD containing that option that is available in Naxos. For example, when you click on Malcolm Arnold, you will be brought to a listing of all of the CDs containing music composed by Malcolm Arnold.

In the case of composers, you can also browse recordings of individual pieces by clicking the "View by Work" tab.

For example, clicking on 3 Shanties will show you all nine CDs in Naxos Music Library that include that particular piece.

Streaming Music

Once you've found a CD, it's very easy to stream it! Click on the title to open the album.

From there, you can select individual tracks to play, or select all of them.

Once you've selected your track(s), click on "Play Selections."

A new window will then pop up, and your selection(s) will automatically start streaming.

While streaming, you can view the CD's liner notes by clicking on the "Booklet" button. (Booklets are not available for every CD!)

You can also learn more about a piece by clicking on the "Work Details" button.

From there, you can see the year that it was composed, its instrumentation, its publisher(s), its duration, and a paragraph or two about the work. You can also click on "Available Recording(s)" to view all of the recordings of that particular piece that are available in Naxos Music Library.

Logging Out

When you are done using Naxos Music Library, please remember to log out! Our license allows for a limited number of simultaneous users, and properly logging out will open usage of Naxos to another student.

To log out, simply click on the "Log-Out" button at the top of every page. Closing the tab or browser will not log you out, so be sure to manually log out when you have finished your session!
