HS 400: Grant Writing: Introduction

Welcome to the Leslie F. Malpass Library. My name is John Stierman, and I am your contact person in the library for grant writing. If you have any questions about the library or your personal research, I encourage you to discuss them with me. My contact information is found at the right of most pages in this guide. Two of colleagues have more experience than I do with grants, and they would be eager to help. They are Chuck Malone (, government information librarian, and Bill Thompson (, reference librarian and all-around valuable person to know in the library. See his attached guide for this sesson.

  • become familiar with the primary information retrieval tools in grant writing and fund-raising
  • search both print and digital sources to identify funders for class projects
