Industry Sources

 

Industry/Product Description

  • North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) - the standard used by federal agencies in classifying business establishments, with definitions and background information for each industry. Both ABI/Inform and Business Source Elite (see Articles tab) allow you to search for articles about industries using NAICS codes.
  • Value Line Investment Survey - focus is on U.S.-traded companies, but some of the industry snapshots will discuss non-U.S. trends and influences

Identify Industry Players

  • Company Dossier from Nexis Uni
    • Open the menu (very upper left of the screen) to find Company Dossier
    • The default search is "Find a Company." Note the other options at the top of the page.
    • Choose the "Create a Company List" option.
    • Fill in one or more blanks, such as country and industry code or business description
