Social Work 325 - Social Policy: Illinois Regulations

Illinois laws often authorize an Illinois Government Agency to write regulations to administer that law. Before the law goes into effect, the administering agency must publish proposed regulations in the Illinois Register and allow for a public comment period. After considering the comments and editing the proposed regulation, a final regulation or rule will be published in the Illinois Register. The final rules are incorporated into the complilation of existing Illinois regulations called the Illinois Administrative Code.

The Illinois Administrative Code is a collection of the existing rules and regulations in effect. It includes final regulations and amendments of those regulations from the Illinois Register.
