ASC has several tools to sort search results called LIMITS. From here you can sort out out peer-reviewed articles. Search by source type, to sort out newspapers, and magazine articles for background information, or academic journals for more in-depth research.
You can also adjust the dates to either 12 months, the past five years, or ten, or choose a custom date if you are looking for a specific date range. This can be useful to get articles from certain historical periods to compare how a topic has changed, for instance, the type of health recommendations for nutrition in the 1970s versus today.
These filters and more are available at the top of the results under the All Filters tab.
