Introduction

World War II (WWII) lasted from 1939 to 1945 and included the majority of the the world's nations. This war was fought globally and was an example of a "total war," blurring the lines between civilian and military resources. The two alliances involved in the war were the Allies and the Axis. Casualties amounted to over between 65 and 85 million, including civilians and military from both sides, making this war the deadliest in human history.

This guide has been developed to provide links to resources that could be useful in research about the World War II. It provides information on searching WestCat and I-Share, indexes that can be used to locate information about World War II history and links to digital and other collections that could be used for research about World War II.
