Many U.S. and Illinois government agencies have issued publications related to World War II. Government publications available in the WIU Libraries can be found using WestCat. Government publications at other institutions can be found using I-Share. The WIU Libraries also provide access to digital collections of early government publications.
The U.S. Congressional Serial Set contains reports and publications that were issued by Congress, including reports that were written by government agencies and sent to Congress. The Serial Set contains over 1,800 publications dealing with World War II. To find them, use the "Armed Forces and Conflicts" link in the Subjects by Category area, then choose World War II (1939-1945). Also browse for other topics that might be related. It is possible to browse all subject headings by clicking on the A to Z Index tab.
Illinois State Government Publications - can be found using WestCat or I-Share. When requested through I-Share, they can be sent to the library on the Macomb or Quad Cities campuses, or the closest academic library participating in I-Share.
The government publishes most, if not all, of their modern documents in an online format. For such documents, we link to online government databases that can be searched for relevant material.
