Cybercrime: Intro

Intro

Cybercrime (also known as computer crime) is a crime that involves computers and network connectivity. Computers are used in the commission of the crime, with the target being anything from other computers to other people. Interpol makes the distinction between two different types of cybercrime. Advanced cybercrime (or high-tech crime) consists of sophisticated attacks against computer hardware and software while cyber-enabled crime is the commission of traditional crimes via the use of the internet such as crimes against children, financial crimes, and terrorism.
