This site provides links to a wide variety of geospatial data available from the Illinois Geospatial Data Clearinghouse.

A collection of photographs and images on a wide variety of geoscience topics provided by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI). The Image Bank makes quality geoscience images available to the public, educators, and the earth science community.

The U.S. Geological Survey has a collection of over 400,000 photographs taken in the process of doing geologic research in the United States and U.S. territories from 1868 to the present. These images document the discovery, development, and science in the U.S. done by the Geological Survey and its predecessors. This site provides online access to some of these photographs.

This site, which is produced by the Florida Center for Instructional Technology, is a clearinghouse for clip art and images related to Earth Science. It includes images of minerals, geologic structures and fossils.

A consortium of natural history and botanical libraries is cooperatively digitizing older publications related to biology, biodiversity and natural so that they can be freely viewed and used online. The library can be searched or browsed by title, author or subject. Images from the publications can be used in publications, but remember to cite the source!

Digital orthophotos and other imagery for Illinois from the National Aerial Photography Program (NAPP), taken between 1998 and 2001. Orthophotos are aerial photographs that have been corrected for errors caused by changes in elevation or angle of the camera taking the photograph.

A site with reference data for Illinois, including Digital Raster Graphics (DRGs), which are digital versions of topographic maps for Illinois that can be downloaded from this site for use in GIS.

Earth Explorer can be used to find current and historical aerial photographs for a location. Users can enter an address or place name to find aerial photographs taken by various federal agencies over time.
