Using Endnote: Sharing References

A guide to using EndNote online, a cloud-based program that can be used to organize references and create citations.

Sharing References within a Research Group

It is possible to share a group of references with other EndNote users.

1. Click on Organize and choose Manage My Groups. The groups in your EndNote Library will be shown.

2. Click in the check box next to the group and click on Manage Sharing. A message will appear showing the number of e-mail addresses sharing the file (initially 0).

3. Click on Start Sharing this Group. A new window will open asking you to enter the e-mail addresses of colleagues who will share the group. Each colleague who shares the group must have an EndNote account. Enter the e-mail addresses of the people who will share access, separated by commas. Then indicate whether you wish the colleagues to just be able to read the group or read and write to the group. Press Apply. The Group will now be shared among you and your colleagues.
